Surfboard: work in process




This is how the board looked yesterday when I left the studio... I painted over everything how it was day before (check the post below). It's not ready and I still don't know what next...it's a mysterious process to me and every time I feel like a beginner again!! I can feel the wonder and frustrations simultaneously.

From the studio: surfboard art

I hand painted this surfboard for a local Venice surfer who makes his own boards.
He gave me total creative freedom to do "my thing" and I had a great time with this one!
This is before the fiber class coating. Pics with the shiny new coating to come.
I discovered that surfboards are great big canvases....I definitely want to do more of them!
